The C.B.& Q. car BURLINGTON (Budd, 1952) became the BURLINGTON NORTHERN in 1971, the year in which the former Great Northern lightweight sleeper-buffet lounge car MANITOBA CLUB was designated B.N. car ST.CROIX RIVER for use by company officials. The Burlington Northern's car COLUMBIA RIVER originally came from the Soo Line via the Great Northern, which had numbered this car the A-2.

The car SANTA FE was built for the A.T.& S.F. in 1949 by Pullman-Standard and renamed ATCHISON in 1957, the year in which Budd delivered cars SANTA FE and TOPEKA to this road. The car LAUREL RIDGE, built for U. S. Steel by Pullman-Standard in 1949 was given the new name MOUNTAINAIR when sold to the Santa Fe in 1962.

The Milwaukee Road built its cars MILWAUKEE and WISCONSIN in company shops in 1948. Three years later, Rio Grande lightweight chair car 1240 was rebuilt to that railroad's business car WILSON McCARTHY. American Car and Foundry's lightweight business car was Gulf, Mobile and Ohio car 1. The Union Pacific converted lightweight chair cars 5446 5447, 5448 and 5449 to business cars 99 (later 100), 100 (later 103), l00 (later 101) and ARDEN respectively. Lightweight sleeper-lounge cars BAKER and BOISE became U.P. business cars 102 and 103 (later 114) in 1965.

The car 150- SUNSET was built for the Southern Pacific in 1955 by Pullman-Standard. Rock Island chair car 352 was rebuilt to that line's business car 101- LAKE MICHIGAN in 1953, while the lightweight sleeper IMPERIAL MARK became business car 100 on the Rock Island roster in 1971, the year in which the Missouri Pacific rebuilt business car No. 11 from their lightweight sleeping car CRYSTAL RIVER. The Erie-Lackawanna re-designated tne lightweight sleeping cars AMERICAN LIBERTY and AMERICAN LIFE to business cars 5 and 6 in 1964 and 1965 respectively; no interior changes were made.

The car ADOLPHUS, built in Wabash Railroad shops in 1954 for the Anheuser-Busch Corp., became Pennsy business car 1000 in 1965. Chesapeake and Ohio sleeper-lounge car NEW RIVER CLUB was rebuilt to business car CHESSIE 29 in 1951. One of that road's Budd-built lunch counter-tavern cars became business car 19 in 1948, later re-designated No. 28 on the New York Central and then ADIOS II for Mrs. Charles Payson, who eventually sold it to the Grand Trunk Western.
